This ongoing project aims to assess the impact of various devlopment programmes in enhancing the livelihood and quality of life of PVTGs and conservation of their culture
Funded by the Dr. Ramdayal Munda Tribal Research Institute under the aegis of Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), this research aims to assess the impact of various socio-economic development programmes undertaken by the state and the centre for enhancing the livelihood and quality of life improvements of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in Jharkhand. While assessing the impact this research will also try to unpack these programmes' roles in conservation of their culture.
Physical and financial achievements of these welfare schemes will be studied as well as trying to identify barriers and critical gaps in their implementation. Our proposed solutions will seek to inform the state government in framing future welfare schemes for this demographic.
Using a mixed metods approach this study will cover all 8 PVTGs in Jharkhand. Data will be collected from the districts of Pakur, Sahebganj, Gumla, Latehar, East Singhbhum, Hazaribagh, Lohardaga and Simdega.
