PDAG has had a long-standing engagement with the Government of Jharkhand, working closely with the Chief Minister’s Office, the Chief Secretary’s Office and key state departments on policy design, institutional strengthening and data-driven governance. Our work has followed a whole-of-government approach, combining policy advisory, research, data analytics and multi-stakeholder coordination to address complex development priorities across the state.

Over the years, PDAG has supported the state in the design and implementation of major policy and programmatic initiatives spanning livelihoods, migration, education, tribal welfare, social protection, tourism, industrial development and public service delivery. This has included supporting the development of key state policies, conceptualising the CM Schools of Excellence, strengthening migrant welfare systems, supporting the universalisation of pensions and designing Apki Yojana, Apki Sarkar, Apke Dwar, a statewide public service delivery campaign reaching over 10 million households. PDAG has also supported the CMO with data analytics and research for state and district reviews and helped conceptualise the Johar Pariyojana Portal for monitoring public infrastructure projects.

Building on this engagement, PDAG is supporting efforts to strengthen the state’s institutional architecture for data-driven governance, including the proposed Chief Minister’s Data Intelligence Platform. The engagement brings together evidence and research, policy advisory and data intelligence to strengthen inter-departmental convergence, improve monitoring and implementation and develop programmatic roadmaps across priority sectors.

PDAG is also supporting Jharkhand’s engagement with national and global policy and investment platforms. As Knowledge Partner to the Government of Jharkhand for its first participation at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, PDAG supported high-level engagements and bilateral dialogues, connecting the state’s development and investment priorities with wider conversations on economic growth, resource transitions and institutional capacity.

Across these engagements, PDAG’s role has been to connect political economy and grassroots evidence with the everyday workings of government, helping build institutions and systems that can translate policy priorities into more inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.
