While various social security schemes and programmes are implemented by the Union and state governments, often they are not able to meet the intended goals due to inhospitable terrain with dense forest cover and remoteness from administrative headquarters, lack of institutional capacity and pilferage which impacts the last-mile service delivery.
As part of our strategic advisory engagement with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Govt of Jharkhand – PDAG helped design an annual door step public service delivery and grievance redressal initiative to bring the state government and official machinery in every Panchayat. To achieve this, camps were set up at every panchayat where citizens could file complaints regarding service delivery or submit applications to enrol in welfare schemes and receive their due rights and entitlements in a time-bound manner.
In two editions of this flagship programme, over 96.3% of around 8.5 million applications have been resolved. 11% of all applications were disposed of at the camps, while another 45% were disposed of within a week.
