Forests are central to the ecological discourse around climate change. Even with increasing recognition of the important role played by indigenous and forest communities and practices in protecting and maintaining forest landscapes, there is still a lack of tenure security for local communities to harness this potential.
To facilitate knowledge sharing, best practices, and learnings from experience, PDAG was the strategic communications partner for the International Learning Exchange 2023 (ILE 2023), co-hosted by Bharti School of Public Policy, ISB, along with PDAG; Society for Rural, Urban and Tribal Initiative (SRUTI); Vasundhara, Odisha; AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia; and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi. The theme of this three-day event witnessed dialogue and collaboration among 50+ international invitees, 200+ national invitees and an additional 250+ registered participants, from the forest and indigenous communities, women champions, representatives from social impact organisations, and international participants, who shared their lived experiences, teachings, and way forward for climate resilience through partnerships with local and forest community stakeholders.
As part of this collaboration, PDAG built the communications strategy for the event through social media dissemination and promotion of the event, and the documentation of the event in the form of reports, photography stills, and videos. This also included developing ILE collaterals and media exposure for the event.
